Marion Amling joined CCC in the fall of 2006. In over 37 years of choral experience, Marion includes singing under the direction of Sir David Wilcox with the William Ferris Chorale among her most memorable experiences. When she is not singing with Chicago Chamber Choir, Marion is a CPA with her own business and is the mother of identical twin boys. CCC in one word (or more)? "A breath of fresh air."
Erica Beall (Section Leader) began singing with the choir in the fall of 2003. Performing in choirs since the early 90s, some of her favorite choral experiences include working with Dr. Chet Alwes at the University of Illinois, performing at Ravinia, and singing at one of R. Kelly's Christmas parties with CCC. By day, Erica is a K-5 music teacher in Skokie, and her night job is being a parent of two! CCC in a word: "Community"
Allie Beechick has been singing in choirs for fifteen years and joined the Chicago Chamber Choir in 2009. Her most memorable musical experience was singing in a mass choir at Carnegie Hall under the direction of John Rutter. Currently, Allie manages properties for a commercial real estate company, Hamilton Partners. She describes CCC as "comfort."
Jennifer Booth joined the Chicago Chamber Choir in the fall of 2009. She moved to Chicago from Nebraska, her home state. She sang with various school choirs in high school and college and during her Master's program. Being a part of church choirs has always been an important part of her musical and spiritual life. Now, after years of singing on stage in opera choruses and studying tirelessly to become an opera diva, Jennifer has discovered great pleasure in singing with the Gospel Choir at the United Methodist Church—Chicago Temple. CCC in one word: "Hallelujah!"
Beth Campbell joined the Chicago Chamber Choir in the fall of 2009. Singing has always been a big part of her life. Her most memorable musical experience was singing on a tour of China with the Augustana Choir. She currently teaches elementary school general music in Vernon Hills. She would describe the Chicago Chamber Choir in one word as "beautiful."
Cristin Colvin is a Tennessee transplant seeking all manner of musical adventures in Chicago. When not trapped in her cubicle downtown, Cristin sings with both the Chicago Chamber Choir and Wicker Park Choral Singers, studies voice and jazz piano, and writes pseudo-intellectual prose poems about Lake Michigan. One of her fondest musical memories involves playing the saucy, Cockney barmaid Marian Hackett (of Christopher Sly) in opera workshop at Tennessee Governor’s School.
A native of New Hampshire, Caroline Eichler has been making music her entire life. She recently graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where she majored in both music and political science. Caroline is excited to continue her musical adventure in her new home city of Chicago.
Viktoria Rill joined CCC in the fall of 2006, and has been involved in choirs for more than 20 years. Her most memorable musical experiences are singing her final concert with the University of Dayton Chorale at the Pantheon in Rome , and later playing Mabel in Pirates of Penzance while her husband conducted. She spends her weekdays working in Human Resources and her evenings and weekends folk dancing at German events and singing around the Chicago area. CCC in one word? "Elating."
Amy Keipert became part of CCC in the fall of 2008. In more than 15 years of choral singing, her most memorable experiences include singing concerts in China and Scandinavia on tour with the Augustana Choir during college. By day, Amy is a middle school choir director and music teacher in Des Plaines. In a word, Amy describes CCC as "amazing."
Alana Pennington joined CCC in the fall of 2006. In more than 13 years performing in a chorale setting, Alana remembers singing at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra hall for The Met Semi-Finals as her most memorable experience. When Alana is not singing with CCC, she is a busy mother of two little ones, making time to plan and lead the worship at her church in Lakeview with her husband. CCC in one word? "Blessing."
Kaela Rampton joined CCC in the fall of 2007 and has been singing in choirs since elementary school. Kaela is the Regional Music and Gospel Arts Director for the Salvation Army. She provides music programs for inner-city public schools and teaches everything from general music to band, choir, and piano. One of Kaela's favorite choir memories is performing the Faure Requiem at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In a word, she describes CCC as "entertaining."
ALTO
Monica Blacconeri joined the CCC in the fall of 2007. She began her singing career as a member of the Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus at age seven and has been singing in choirs ever since. Over the years, some of her most memorable performances include singing Mahler's 8th Symphony, Berstein's Mass, and the Brahms Requiem. When not singing with the Chicago Chamber Choir, Monica teaches K-5 music in Evanston. CCC in one word? "Nourishing."
Dena Borman began singing with CCC in the fall of 2006. She has been singing in choirs since the second grade and says that her favorite choir memory is performing in Denmark with the Blue Lake International Choral Ensemble as a junior in high school. During the day, Dena is a high school choir teacher. CCC in one word? "Rejuvenating."
Julia Brueck has been a member of the CCC since January 2011. She earned her doctorate in Organ Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa in 2010 and is a private teacher and recitalist in the Chicago area. She is also the Minister of Music at St. David's Episcopal Church in Glenview, IL, where she resides with her husband and baby daughter.
Toria Burrell was one of the original singers in the choir back in 1996. She affectionately considers CCC her "baby," after reforming and conducting it in 1999. Artistic Director for a year and composer in residence for several years, she now gladly rejoins the choir as a singer. Toria has been a professional musician for 25 years, as a pianist, flautist, singer, private music tutor, conductor and composer. She fondly remembers auditioning Timm Adams into the choir and later proposing the directorship of the choir to him, when she had to leave in 2000. Toria is honored to be involved again with this choir, which she has seen grow and blossom into a high caliber, dynamic, unique musical group under Adam's leadership.
Amy Butterer began singing with CCC in the fall of 2003. I In her 30+ years of singing, one of Amy's greatest memories is as a member of Western Michigan University's University Chorale performing Beethoven's 9th Symphony w/ other University ensembles totaling over 100 voices. Amy spends her days as a booking agent for The Billions Corporation and many-an evening watching her clients perform at various rock clubs, where she also performs herself occasionally. CCC in one word? "Extraordinary."
Margaret Jungels spends her days working as an early childhood music educator and independent Human Resources Consultant, as well as volunteering in various educational roles. She is excited to be a part of CCC and especially excited to sing with adults! Margaret lives in Chicago with her husband and two school aged daughters.
Dominique Martin joined CCC in the fall of 2007. Dominique has been singing in choirs since she was a young girl and has had memorable experiences such as performing with the Portland Symphonic Girlchoir, singing as a gingerbread kid for the Portland Opera's production of Hansel and Gretel, and performing Carmina Burana with the Green Bay Symphony as a member of the Lawrence University Concert Choir. Currently, Dominique is the chorus director at Taft High School in Chicago. She describes CCC as "rejuvinating."
Megan McHugh is currently working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Chicago area, and has been singing since she was in third grade. Her favorite musical experience was singing with some of her closest friends in London, England and with her parents in Rome, Italy. Music has been a passion throughout her life, and she is overjoyed to be singing with such talented musicians and wonderful people in CCC!
Joanna Tomassoni joined CCC in the fall of 2011 after moving to Chicago from Gambier, Ohio, where she had her first choral experience as a member of the Kenyon College Chamber Singers. She grew up singing with her parents around the house and playing piano. She is as of yet career-less, and spends her time exploring Chicago and interning.
Kim Vachon has been engaging in some form of musical activity since she left the womb 25 years ago. From singing along to The Wizard of Oz to performing classical piano, music has played an integral part in Kim's life since the beginning. After dabbling in viola, clarinet, voice and piano, she left college with a degree in Choral Music Education and Psychology. She is currently teaching music at Urban Prairie Waldorf School in Pilsen and attending graduate school at the Adler School of Professional Psychology and is thrilled to be a part of a high quality musical experience with Chicago Chamber Choir.
Tracy Weisman began singing with CCC in 2001. Tracy has more than 30 years' worth of choral experience so far, and she fondly remembers representing her state in a high school honors choir in New York City at an ACDA convention under the direction of Alice Parker. Tracy is a speechwriter when she's not performing with the choir. CCC in one word? "Passion."
TENOR
Ross Cabin joined CCC in the fall of 2010. He has a bachelors degree in music education from Lawrence University in Appleton Wi and a masters degree in music education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He currently teaches elementary school music in Kenilworth, IL. His favorite musical moment was his first day singing in high school choir. They learned "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" by Lutkin and went into the stairwell to sing it at the very end of rehearsal. He's never forgotten that beautiful sound and has been hooked on choral music ever since.
Sean Cleary is a graduate of Augustana college, where he was a member of the Augustana Choir for four years. While currently residing in Chicago, he originally hails from Rockford, IL. In "real life" he is a Campaign Manager at Centro LLC, specializing in digital advertising in the Midwest. His favorite musical experience is any time he gets to sing "By the Mighty Mississippi" in a big circle with his fellow Augustana Choir alumni.
A.J. Dela Cruz joined CCC in the fall of 2010. He began singing in high school and continued at Augustana College, singing in the Augustana Choir, Chamber Singers and Handel Oratorio Society. Since moving to Chicago, he sang with the St. Clement Choir while getting a MS in Biology from DePaul University. Presently, A.J. is a CR Assistant at ICON Clinical Research in Lake Forest, IL.
Kurtis Ellison-Williams, who joined CCC the fall of 2011, has been hooked on classical music ever since the summer of '86, when he heard the New York Philharmonic, led by Leonard Bernstein, perform in Central Park. The guest soloist on that day was the magnificent Ms. Leontyne Price! Orginally from Arkansas, Kurtis studied music at Ouachita Baptist University and the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He is a recent transplant to Chicago, after having spent 20 years admiring the grandeur of the Sandia and Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Albuquerque and Sante Fe, New Mexico. One word to describe CCC: Unique!
Clifton McReynolds - Born and raised in the southern part of Illinois, Clifton McReynolds has been a member of the Chicago Chamber Choir for almost two years now. He has taught nine years of music and math at various schools in Illinois, Tennessee, and the United Kingdom and he is currently an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University and Columbia College Chicago. Clifton has a music education degree from Free Will Baptist Bible College and a master's of music degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He lives with his partner, Don Opitz, in Evanston, Illinois.
William Meek began singing with CCC in 2002. In more than 25 years' worth of singing, William's most memorable experience is a tie between performing as first chair tenor in the Texas All State Choir senior year in high school and his first (and only) opera experience, performing in a pink toga in his university's production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Princess Ida. During the day, William manages derivatives compliance for Northern Trust Corp. CCC in one word? "Family."
Steven Millard joined the Chicago Chamber Choir in the fall of 2009. He is currently a senior Environmental Science teacher in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood at Perspectives Leadership Academy. Steven has been singing in choirs since elementary school, and his most memorable musical experience was performing Haydn's Mass in Time of War with the Willamette University Chamber Choir at Carnegie Hall. One word he uses to describe CCC: "inspired."
Scott Perdue has a master's degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from Brigham Young University. He joined the choir in February 2009 and has sung in choirs since elementary school. He currently works in property management. His most memorable musical moment was when he got his first lead in an opera. One word to describe CCC: "refuge."
BASS
Jim Carter joined CCC in the fall of 2009. He has earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree (Choral/Keyboard) from Illinois State University, and a Master of Music degree (Piano Pedagogy) from the University of Illinois-Urbana. Enjoying a thirty-five year singing career, Jim has performed in a variety of choral ensembles including University Concert Choirs and Glee Club, as well as the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus. In "real life," Jim works for AT&T Corporate Regulatory Relations. He and his partner of nine years (Jim also) have now been happily married for four, with many more to follow. CCC in one word? "Challenge."
Robert Collins has been singing with CCC since 2003. Robert began his singing career at Buffalo Grove High School, and he includes performing with the Millikin University Choir among his most cherished choral experiences. After teaching choral music for sixteen years, Robert earned a MA.Adm.Ed and serves as a school administrator in Vernon Hills, Illinois. CCC in one word? "Refreshing."
Bill Fortune joined CCC in the fall of 2006. In more than 20 years of singing experiences, Bill includes all performances with Millikin University choirs among his favorite. During the day, Bill is a Realtor with City Point Realty LLC.
Elliott Nott began singing with the CCC in the fall of 2008. His vocal pursuits date back to church youth choirs, with his mother as one of his directors. After studying voice with Dr. David Nott, his father, at Illinois Wesleyan University, Elliott has enjoyed singing Oratorio Soli with community and college choruses and orchestras. He has sung with and directed many church choirs and is currently the worship leader at Carter-Westminster in Skokie. After serving as the CCC general manager for two years, Elliott has returned to teaching music full-time at the Ogden International School in Chicago. CCC in one word? "Rewarding."
Trent Stewart has been passionately singing for a quarter of a century now. Almost all of his favorite music memories come from a capella experiences, both performing and being in the audience. He's enjoying making enchanting music with the Chicago chamber choir again, and during the daytime Trent works in the financial services industry.
Wyatt Sheeder hails from the tall-corn state of Iowa where he had the pleasure of graduating from Wartburg College in Waverly. He majored in music education and music therapy and currently works as a board-certified hospice music therapist in the Chicagoland area. Wyatt also works at a cancer center in a Chicago hospital where he provides services to chemotherapy and radiation patients. Some highlights of his music career include playing Harold Hill in Wartburg’s production of The Music Man, touring Europe and South Africa with the Wartburg Choir, and singing with the Chicago Chamber Choir, of course. Having lived in Chicago for over four years, Wyatt is so glad to have found a group like CCC where high-quality musicianship and enthusiasm for music are paramount.
Uvon Tucker joined CCC in the fall of 2005. He has been singing since childhood and is known within CCC as an avid knitter. Uvon is a Personal Relocation Manager at Moving Station when he is not singing with CCC.
Justin Tuffy joined CCC in Fall of 2011. Some of his favorite musical memories include singing Haydn's "The Creation" with Ubbo-Emmius Gymnasium in Leer, Germany and Lotti's "Crucifixus" with Illinois Wesleyan University's Collegiate Choir in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. He is a teacher of mathematics, currently at an alternative high school in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. One word to describe his experience with CCC: "revitalizing."
Nathan Waller hails from the great state of North Carolina. He has earned degrees in both music and in speech language pathology. Nathan is presently working at the Bastian Voice Institute where his focus is on the treatment and prevention of voice disorders. He has had the honor to sing with the Long Leaf Opera Company of North Carolina, Opera Carolina and numerous choral organizations including the Bel Canto Singers of NC, the Durham Choral Society and the Windy City Chorus to name a few. When he's not singing, he enjoys running and spending quality time with his beagle Coco.
