The Chicago Chamber Choir CD Project

Written by Timm Adams, Artistic Director on Friday, 16 March 2012.

We are thrilled to announce our next recording project! This June, the choir will go into the studio to record highlights from our recent and very popular Singing the Elements spring concert series. For the past four springs, CCC has performed songs about water, earth, wind, and fire in four unique concerts: Water Music: Currents of Life; Grounded: Songs of our Majestic Earth; Soar: Songs of Wind and Sky; and our upcoming Luminous: Songs of Fire and Light. We are excited to make permanent and make available to the public this wonderful chronicle of our recent and critically acclaimed work.

The upcoming CD, to be released this coming October, will feature an eclectic and exquisite collection of songs by contemporary and classic composers alike. Music of Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, and Daniel Pinkham along with works by Gioacchino Rossini, Johannes Brahms, and Ralph Vaughan Williams will make for a must-have CD for all choral aficionados. “The Water is Wide,” “A Bit of Earth,” “Awake, O North Wind,” “O Nata Lux,” “Jeremiah’s Fire,” and “What a Wonderful World” are just a few of the titles included in this recording.

The Elements CD project will be a valuable asset for choral music lovers’ personal collections. However, is not without its costs and we need financial assistance to embark on this project. Please donate today and thank you for your support.
